OnePlus has confirmed that the company is going to roll out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its smartphone in the first quarter of 2016. This means that you’ll get Android update of your phone by March 2016 if everything goes as planned.
But, if you don’t want to wait till then, you can get custom ROMs for your OnePlus 2 device. Currently CyanogenMod 13 (also called as CM13) along with some alternatives are available for your smartphone. It will add lots of feature to your device, once installed.

Install Custom ROM on OnePlus 2
Well, download the ROM of your choice from above first and follow the post below to get started with the steps to install on your device.
Be sure to also download and install Marshmallow Gapps from here.
Step 0. Make sure you have installed a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM. With Stock recovery, it is not possible to flash a custom ROM on your Android.
Step 1. Download the custom ROM and Gapps file on your PC.
Step 2. And then copy the files in your device’s SD card by connecting it to the PC via USB cable. Remember the path where you save those files.
Step 3. Now you need to boot your device into recovery mode. As you have already rooted your device, just use Quick Boot app from play store to do the rest of the task until your device goes into the recovery mode.
You will enter recovery mode soon, and should see TWRP or CWM recovery. If you see 3e recovery, then you need to install TWRP recovery for this. See the link above step 1.
Step 4. [Optional] Once in TWRP/CWM, create a backup of your device. Use the backup option for this in recovery. This backup is really a lifesaver!
Step 5. Do a Factory Reset.
In TWRP, tap on Wipe, then advanced wipe, and now make sure you have selected these partitions: dalvik cache, data, system and cache. Then do the Swipe action at bottom to confirm it.
In CWM, choose wipe data.factory reset option. Confirm on next screen.
Step 6. Now, install the ROM file.
- In TWRP, on homescreen, tap on Install, and then locate the ROM file and tap on it. Then do the Swipe action at the bottom to begin flashing the update.
- In CWM, choose ‘install zip ..’ option, select file and confirm by selecting Yes on next screen.
Step 7. Now, install the Gapps the same way you installed Marshmallow ROM on your device. Go back to recovery’s homescreen to get to install option.
Step 8. When it’s done, restart the device using the option called reboot.
