YouTube to remove 30 seconds unskippable video ad
In recent days, YouTube has went through several modifications in terms of usability and interactions. According to Google, the effort is to make YouTube a video platform not like TV that capitalize on ads accordingly. However this is not the good news for the marketers who generate sales and awareness through YouTube video promotion.
As part of that, we’ve decided to stop supporting 30-second unskippable ads as of 2018 and focus instead on formats that work well for both users and advertisers […]
The additional length has took into account all the more advertisement formats and longer promotion spots. Its gonna be a marketing hit to mobile users, with “unskippable” advertisements unquestionably emerging as generally irritating. Especially the 30-second ones. Apparently Google has finally taken notice of the growing user annoyance and says it does plan to remove the 30-second unskippable ad format.
This move is an intelligent one, agreed experts. “YouTube analyses that users don’t like unskippable ads,” commented Andrew Peake, managing director of integrated creative agency, VCCP. “At the end of the day, if you’re doing creative work that will engage right from the start, you haven’t got to worry too much.”
